2024 Secret Gardens of Cambridge

Secret Gardens of Cambridge will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

The Secret Gardens of Cambridge, presented on alternate years, is a signature fundraising event of the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library. This special self-guided tour is held on an early Sunday in June, just as spring turns to summer.  Since 2000, the Friends have been uncovering secret gardens in neighborhoods all across the city and inviting our friends and neighbors to take a peek!

The Secret Gardens tour has featured more than 200 individual gardens in Cambridge, from a hidden swimming pond in a small backyard oasis to a garden that springs to life with thousands of bulbs each year; from a woodland tree-lined front walk to guided contours of border plantings and decorative pots. Some are small and sunny, others are large or shady. Flowers, herbs, sculptures, and stones adorn the deeply diverse variety of gardens found in every nook and cranny of Cambridge.

How much are tickets?

  • General public: Tickets are $25 per person (pick up booklet) and $35 per person with a mailed booklet

  • Friend of the Library: Tickets are $2o per person (pick up booklet) and $30 per person with a mailed booklet

When do tickets go on sale?

  • Tickets via EventBrite will go live on Sunday, May 5, 2024

  • If you wish to receive a mailed booklet, you must order tickets via Eventbrite by May 20

  • You can purchase tickets in -person at the Main Library (449 Broadway) on the following dates:

    • Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 10am-2pm

    • Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 10am-2pm

How do I pick up a booklet?

  • Physical booklets with maps of the gardens will serve as your “ticket” for the tour. Booklets can be picked up in person at select times prior to the event, or for an additional $10 mailed directly to you prior to the order (order tickets before May 20)

  • Attendees who select the pick up option will receive an email with details about pick up times closer to the vent. A digital mobile-friendly map will be emailed to all attendees the morning of in addition to the booklet
